Speaker Guidelines - DigitalFilipino E-Commerce Summit
Many thanks again to all club members and sponsors who agreed to become speakers in the upcoming DigitalFilipino E-Commerce Summit.
The whole event is a big challenge for me as I have been thinking what the club will be like in the next 5 years. The idea that struck me lately is to pursue a vision of becoming like a "TED" sort of community where the best and sharpest of minds converge to share knowledge to one another.
This Summit is our first baby step towards that direction.
Here are the speaker guidelines that I requested our resource persons to take note of in preparing their presentation.
- Topic and talk are encouraged to be sharing new ideas that you haven't mostly discussed before but reflective of your experience and foresight on how e-commerce shall evolve.
- Share why you are passionate about this field. What excites you about it?
- Share a story to put the human factor in your presentation. (as technology talk at times tend to be geeky)
- Share your failures as well as your success.
- For the benefit of pursuing the topic and theme, feel free to express a different point of view based on what fellow speakers have shared.
- Have fun in doing the presentation.
- Please stick to the time limit given to a topic.

August 18: State of E-Commerce in the Philippines Free Webinar
In support of our corporate member - ProFora Professional Linkage Webinars, I pushed through with our first State of E-Commerce in the Philippines webinar last July 16. Overcome my fear and hesitation about webinars and realized that this is a useful medium for fostering discussion on the said subject. For the 1st webinar, I also quoted some slides of Wendy Ang of Optimind Web Design and SEO where I relate as to how the changes in the e-commerce scene is influencing the way we build content and design our websites.
As not all can be discussed in an hour session, I've decided to make this a monthly series and invite guests as well in the future to contribute in the actual discussion.
Our next State of E-Commerce in the Philippines webinar will be on August 18 Tuesday from 11 am to 12 noon and we will be focusing on the Philippines Top 10 blogs based on Ratified.org data for the first half of 2009.
I hope you can join.

July 16: State of E-Commerce in the Philippines Free Webinar
Our newest corporate member - ProFora Professional Linkage Webinars - invited me to do a trial webinar this July 16, 2009 Wednesday from 11 am to 12 noon to talk about the State of E-Commerce in the Philippines via a one-hour webinar. Haven't done that talk for quite sometime and am apparently nervous about it since I haven't done webinars before.
However, to support our newest club members, I am putting such hesitation aside and want to see if webinars can suit me and my target audience.
So if you have time, I hope you can join this one-hour webinar on July 16 Thursday from 11 am to 12 noon where I will talk about the State of E-Commerce in the Philippines.
