October 30: Consultative meeting with Bureau of Internal Revenue on "Understanding Online Transactions Process"
Hello Club Members. The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) invited us for a consultative session on "understanding online transactions process".
This will be on October 30, 2012, Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at the 10th floor, Training Room, BIR National Office Bldg., BIR Road, Diliman Quezon City.
If you recall, in our earlier years in the club, we also had a meeting with BIR who enlightened us on how individuals and consultants specializing in the ICT field can conduct transactions and issue receipts.
Hopefully, in this session, we can have a better understanding with the BIR on the nature of e-commerce whether done as a hobby or real business.
Club members sending a representative in this session are requested to contact me on or before October 25 and give me the name / contact number / email address of your representative.
Thank you.

DigitalFilipino Club roundtable discussion with Garrett Gee
Our guest resource person was Garrett Gee, a young founder and chief executive officer of Scan, Inc., a company involved in creating web-based and mobile tools which enable both enterprises and individuals to benefit from mobile transaction technologies. Inc. also dubbed Scan as one of America's coolest college start-up for 2012. Garrett also founded and served as the creative director of Capital G Design.
(Note that there should be sound at around 2:00)
Many thanks to club members who joined us despite the heavy rain downpour. I enjoyed our discussion with Garrett and hope to do this more with other entrepreneurs in the future.
